So what was I up too?

So over the lil vacation I went back up to my home town of Reno, of course I did my portion of the work while up there. I was able to finish the banner/navigation for the website and the naming conventions.
BUT of course it was a vacation so I had to go have fun, the best part is my friend and I went down to a little dinner hiding in the back of a casino, they have the best burger EVER.

Wow 2 weeks

Well I had a nice lil break, just realized I forgot to upload all my home work for last week. I have it all done just not sure about the naming conventions, I'm thinking its what the files and folders are named server side.

Other than that I think my end of the project is looking pretty nice, as well as everyone else's. I'm thinking that tomorrow we might just be able to finish the whole site.

Midterm FINISHED!

My midterm is finally finished, I spent the majority of today doing some final tweaks here and there, and cleaning up the code. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, I was going for a sleek design that helped the eye move down the page following the content.

So here I am on my vacation, bout time I took time off work and school at the same time. It's been nice to work on homework in a quiet peaceful area, only bad side is no internet :(. I'm posting this blog with a cell phone, luckily the phone has a qwerty.

I have redone my personal website, it doesn't quite fit the rule of thirds but it works very nicely in my opinion. I'm having a few problems on fitting larger images in the content area since it's a small area, I'm sure I will find a way to make it work if not I'll post my concerns and give a link to the site.

Hopefully I will find a hotspot and upload the site tomorrow if not I might have to wait until I get home.

Zen Garden

OK so I spent the better part of my day looking at the Zen Garden site. So far I'm pretty happy with how things are turning out, just had 1 or two frustrations today, trying to get the page to be 100% in height. I had it working then it broke, took me about 30 min to an hour to figure it out but its working fine now.

I forgot about the homework thats due this week... Guess thats what I'll be doing tomorrow, upside is I don't have much left to do for the Zen Garden.

Home Work week 1

For me this assignment was a little on the annoying side. I spent a good hour trying to salvage the page given to us, but for me it just couldn't be done. I ended up starting over and working in sections, copying and pasting a piece at a time and editing it before moving on.

I found a few things frustrating, for one the date column in the home work assignments table. I tried to make it look exactly as it did before, but couldn't do it unless I over loaded the page with divs.

First day

So today was the first day back to class, after a "long" break I'm back in the basement. Then again thats where they keep the web designers I guess :P.

Intermediate web design looks to be a good class, this quarter though I hope to pick up a few new ideas for web sites and designs that just stand out, different and new.
